Jointly organized by The Hong Kong and China Gas Corporation and the State Power Investment Corporation, the TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition aims to find breakthrough innovative technologies and solutions in the field of smart energy around the world. The competition is committed to becoming a "Nobel" competition in the energy industry, and the gold prize of 1 million US dollars is the highest prize in the energy industry. This year's competition covers a wide range of six zero-carbon technology innovation areas, including renewable energy, energy storage and energy conversion, carbon neutrality, hydrogen energy, energy digitalization, and green and smart cities, which have been added this year.

Since the launch of the competition on September 19, 2023, 450 projects from 59 countries and regions around the world have actively registered. After the strict preliminary review, due diligence, review, roadshow and defense of the organizing committee of the competition. Chunhua Hydrogen Energy Technology (Hunan) Co., Ltd. went all the way from the top 32 to the top 16 to the top 10, and won the top five in the finals and won the "Growth Star" individual award.

On April 22, after a series of strict comprehensive award processes, Chunhua Hydrogen Energy's PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production technology entered the top five in the world and won the single award of "Growth Star". At the same time, it has also been highly recognized with the Hong Kong and China Gas Company, Towngas and China Smart Energy Company, and the two parties are expected to develop and carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy, and will jointly promote the sustainable development of hydrogen energy technology and industry. The initiator of the TERA-Award competition is Dr. Li Jiajie, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a JP of the Hong Kong Bauhinia Medal.
